The Chef’s Academy at Harrison College prepares students like you for an entry-level career in the food service industry.
We offer two accredited programs in culinary arts to fit your goals: a 90-credit-hour Culinary Arts Associate of Applied Science Degree program (currently available in North Carolina only) or a 48-credit-hour diploma program (currently available in Indiana only). If you decide to start with the diploma program first, you can always use those credits later to help you pursue the 90-credit-hour degree.
Both of our culinary arts programs offer you hands-on instruction and direct experience in fundamental food preparation, classical cuisines and the basics of meat and poultry cookery. Our kitchen courses meet 40 times in a 10-week period so that you will have several opportunities to put your skills to the test and gain valuable training. Our passionate faculty and staff are experienced culinary experts who are dedicated to providing you the guidance, tools and resources you need to achieve your goals. We pride ourselves in providing you with a supportive and empowering environment so that you can improve your life, impact your family and contribute to the communities in which you live and work.
As a graduate of one of our culinary arts programs, you will be taught skills in food service purchasing, nutrition and food safety and will receive a foundation of fundamental cooking techniques. You will be given the knowledge necessary to pursue a career in a variety of areas, including hotels, fine dining institutions, health care facilities, resorts, entrepreneurial, food truck, catering, retail food and beverage and entertainment.
